Why Do Some Interventionists Charge More?

Interventionist fees vary with case complexity, family preparation, travel and lodging, sober escort, aftercare coaching, and the scope of the fee. Compare written scopes, not just totals. Intervention NY’s local package is $2,750; sober escort, out-of-area travel, and treatment program costs are separate and should be discussed before you commit.

What can change an intervention fee?

A fee may cover one meeting or a longer period of family support. Ask what work happens before and after the meeting. Case complexity may require more preparation; it does not establish a particular price or promise an outcome.

Written quotes and hidden costs

Ask for an itemized written quote before paying or booking travel. Separate the intervention fee from the treatment provider’s bill. Discuss changed travel dates, lodging, cancellation, escort, extra meetings and follow-up beyond the agreed scope.

  • What is included if help is refused?
  • Which expenses need approval?
  • What are the payment, cancellation and refund terms?

Compare providers by scope, not promises

Ask each provider the same questions. A larger total may cover different work, while a smaller total may leave travel or aftercare out. Neither total guarantees an outcome. Keep treatment costs separate and ask what happens after a refusal.

Use our hiring checklist. We do not list unverified competitor prices. OASAS and the federal treatment locator below help check treatment options, not intervention fees.
